Clara passed away Monday morning at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab. Center where she had been a resident since January 20, 2010.
She was 90 years and 12 days of age.

Clara Lucille Emanuel, daughter of Clyde and Mabel Matilda Turner Carl, was born February 10, 1920 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was a 1938 graduate of Ottumwa High School. On May 15, 1938 she married Dio Russell Emanuel in Oskaloosa. They made their home in Oskaloosa where Clara was a homemaker. She also worked for 6 years as a caregiver at a local nursing home. Clara was an avid reader and enjoyed walking.

Clara’s family includes two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Bonnie Emanuel of Blairstown, Iowa; and Dale and Cathy Emanuel of Sorrento, Fla.; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 1, 1991, a sister, Veona Toopes and three brothers: Raymond, Ross and Richard Carl.
