Clara passed away Monday morning at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab. Center where she had been a resident since January 20, 2010.
She was 90 years and 12 days of age. |
Clara Lucille Emanuel, daughter of Clyde and Mabel Matilda Turner Carl, was born February 10, 1920 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was a 1938 graduate of Ottumwa High School. On May 15, 1938 she married Dio Russell Emanuel in Oskaloosa. They made their home in Oskaloosa where Clara was a homemaker. She also worked for 6 years as a caregiver at a local nursing home. Clara was an avid reader and enjoyed walking.

Clara’s family includes two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Bonnie Emanuel of Blairstown, Iowa; and Dale and Cathy Emanuel of Sorrento, Fla.; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. |
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 1, 1991, a sister, Veona Toopes and three brothers: Raymond, Ross and Richard Carl.
