Juanitta passed away Saturday morning at Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. She was eighty years, ten months and fourteen days of age. |
Jaunitta Bell Sparks, daughter of Virgil Mathew and Bessie Bell Musgrove Sparks, was born December 24, 1928 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was a 1948 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. She worked for F.W. Woolworth 5 & 10 Store for 43 years, her entire working career. She retired in 1992 to take care of her mother. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed collecting stamps. She was a long time member of the Oskaloosa Community Church and was active with the church library and also volunteered at the Oskaloosa Public Library. Juanitta was also active with the AWANAS and took an interest in helping young people. Her lifelong hobby was keeping scrapbooks and photo albums, documenting the history of Oskaloosa, her family and friends.

Her family includes her sister-in-law, Carol King Sparks of Des Moines, IA; a nephew, Jay Sparks of Montezuma, IA; three nieces, LuAnn Stych of Hillsdale, MI, Debra Patterson of Des Moines, IA, and Tammy Sparks Horton of Sewell, NJ; seven great nieces and nephews: Angie Phillips, Brett Paulsen, Jason Hewitt, Aaron Patterson, Virgil Sparks, Jayme Budeslich and Kelly Budeslich; and four great great nieces and nephews: Kenadi Phillips, Ridley Phillips, Zachary Davis, Blake Stout. |
Besides her parents, Juanitta was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Leroy Sparks.
