Maxine passed away Monday afternoon at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Albia at the age of 101 years, 5 months and 23 days.

Maxine Louise Hightower, daughter of Walter and Jennie Petticord Richmond, was born October 21, 1907 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She married Roy J. Hightower September 4, 1937 in Oskaloosa. He passed away October 26, 1999. She was a member of St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Her family includes her son, Larry (Marilyn) Hightower of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and several sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ.
