Marguerite was born to George and Ethel Schwartz of Libertyville, Iowa. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, and a business woman. She and her husband Rex owned the Carousel children's store for many years. She was a devoted member of the Oskaloosa community and held memberships in King's Daughters, Tri-T, PEO, and United Methodist Women. She and Rex became members of the Central United Methodist Church in 1949. For the past eight years, she resided at Pennsylvania Place in Ottumwa. Fortunately, several of her Oskaloosa friends were there, also. With their companionship and that of Joyce Linebaugh and Brenda Miller, she enjoyed the time in her new home. She always held fond memories of Oskaloosa. |
She is survived by her two sons; Nik (Billie Jo) of Denver, Co., and Ned (Jill) of Elmhurst, Il; three grandchildren; Kelly (Marty) Green, Michael (Zoe) Johnston, and Kylie Perrine, and two great grandchildren; Haley Green and A.J. Perrine. She is also survived by a brother Alva (June) Schwartz of Buffalo, NY, a sister-in-law Maxine Schwartz of Des Moines, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. |
She was preceded in death by her husband Rex, a brother Dale Schwartz, and a grandson Scott Johnston. |
