Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday morning January 26, 2009 at at St. Paul Congreational United Church of Christ with Reverend Elizabeth Colton officiating.
Agnes M. Reese, daughter of Charles H. and Mae Eldridge Hudelson, was born November 5, 1910 in Clarion, Iowa. She was a 1928 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. Following her education she worked as a clerk at Seth Thomas Jewelry Store. She married David E. Reese on March 29, 1930 in Oskaloosa. They made their home in Oskaloosa and Agnes helped her husband in bookkeeping at their gas stations, Reese DX and Reese Champlin. David passed away August 31, 1994. Agnes was a member of St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ and Eastern Star and she served as a Cub Scout Leader for several years. Agnes enjoyed her family and their activities and was an avid sports fan; she was especially fond of the Chicago Cubs, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Her family includes her daughters and their husbands: Shirley and Andy Cubit of Oelwein, Iowa and Cecelia and Otto “Junior” Van Roekel of Oskaloosa and a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ramona Reese, also of Oskaloosa; eighteen grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, Agnes was preceded in death by her children: Donna Bambrook, David E. Reese, Jr. and Diana Walker Stout; a great granddaughter, three brothers and five sisters.

As her wish, Agnes body has been cremated and her ashes will be interred in Forest Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ or Mahaska Hospice
