Interment: Kensler Cemetery south of Delta, Iowa.

Arlene passed away Thursday morning at the Knoxville Hospital. She was 72 years, 5 months and 27 days of age.
|
Henrietta Arlene Jenkins, daughter of Aart & Carrie Horman Scholtus was born June 21, 1936 in Rose Hill, Iowa, one of ten children. The family lived in Rose Hill and she attended school there. May 28, 1955, Arlene married Richard Vail Jenkins at the Rev. Max Johnson’s home in Oskaloosa, IA. They lived in Evans, and prior to having children, she worked at the May Drug Store. She later worked at Maid Rite and King Lear Motel. She was a member of the Evans Church and served on its board. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and traveling.

Arlene’s memory is honored by her husband, Richard of Oskaloosa and two sons and their wives: Curtis & Tawnee Jenkins of Pella and Clinton & Anne Jenkins of Boone. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Ashley, Carley, Tasha & Zane Jenkins of Pella and Shannon & Liam Jenkins of Boone and a great grandson, Tucker of Pella. She is survived by three brothers and their wives: Marion & Carol Scholtus of Rose Hill; Donald & Jean Scholtus of Oskaloosa and Mart & Kathy Scholtus, also of Rose Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters: Adrianna Harding, Carrie Hoyt, Irene Lane and Johanna Van Polen and two brothers: Gerritt and Art Scholtus
