Bob passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home in Kirkville. As was his wish, his body has been cremated. His ashes will be buried at a later date. |
James Robert Tresslar, son of James Marion and Edna Saner Tresslar, was born August 4, 1923 in Delta, Iowa. He was a 1941 Sigourney High School Graduate. Following his education he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he married Bobbie Faye Lucas, September 1, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. After his discharge, they remained in California until 1950. At that time, they moved to the Ottumwa/Delta area, where Bob farmed and worked in construction. They returned to California in 1960, and Bob worked as a carpenter building water treatment and sewer plants. In 1967, they returned to Iowa, and Bob worked as a supervisor for Moorehead Construction, which built water treatment plants and sewer plants in Iowa. Bob has lived the last 15 years in Kirkville.
Bob enjoyed square dancing with his wife, playing cards and dominos, camping, gardening and fishing for carp, which he enjoyed canning. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and the children living in his neighborhood.

His family includes his son, James R. (Elizabeth) Tresslar, Jr. of San Rafael, CA; his daughters: Cheryl Marcovich of Guerneville, CA; Lynn Allsup of Iowa City, IA; Nancy (Joe) Slay of Oskaloosa, IA; and Marion Tresslar of Portland, OR; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Edna Ferguson of Oskaloosa; and a special friend, Lee Andersen of Oskaloosa.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie on February 15, 1998 and a brother, Pete Tresslar.
