| Visitation: Will begin at 10:00 A.M., Monday morning, April 14, 2008 at Garland-VanArkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to greet visitors. |
| Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon April 15, 2008 at Garland-VanArkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kerry Lake of the Union Mills Christian Church officiating. |
Interment: Cremation will follow the funeral service and burial of her ashes will be at a later date at Henness Cemetery in East Des Moines Township, Mahaska County, Iowa.

Mary Lou passed away Thursday evening at her home in Oskaloosa at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 3 days.

Mary Lou Brown, daughter of Merle Franklin and Mary Dimmit Besco Sipes, was born July 7, 1936 in Lewiston, Illinois. She was a 1955 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. She married Larry D. Brown on December 18, 1955 in Oskaloosa Iowa; he passed away March 12, 1992.
Mary Lou was employed as a sales clerk at several retail stores in Oskaloosa including United, A&P, Pamida, Dixon’s, K-Mart and was last employed for 9 years at Wigg’s. Mary Lou also operated M & L Concrete on the Beacon Road for 6 years as well as Just Us Design for 5 years.
She enjoyed sewing, fishing camping, mushroom hunting and spending time with family & friends.

Mary Lou’s family includes her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Marcia Brown of New Sharon; her daughter, Brenda and Jeff Anderson also of New Sharon; four grandchildren: Amber (Alan) Lake of New Sharon; Sarah Brown of Cedar Rapids; Alex Anderson of Des Moines and Holly Anderson of New Sharon; and one great grandson, Carter Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, Knoxville.
